Red Willow Brewery
Toby and Caroline McKenzie started Red Willow Cask brewery towards the end of 2010 and in December of that year the first official Red Willow beer, Directionless, launched at the Treacle Tap and other pubs across Macclesfield.
Demand for our beer steadily grew and we expanded into a 12brl system, with another brewer brought on board in the Summer of 2012 and Ageless, our first bottled beer was launched. In September of the same year our first keg beers were produced.
The Spring of 2013 saw Virgin Trains begin serving our Tilting Ale, and in September the Red Willow Bar opened in Macclesfield, just down the road from the brewery.
2014 saw us secure a new site for our brewery and by the end of the year we had reached maximum capacity at our original site. Work began at the new site early 2015 and we were given a boost in March when the Red Willow Bar won Pub of the Season by Cheshire East CAMRA.
By September we have moved over to new site and increased production to an average 80 barrels a week. In October Wreckless and Shameless are our first beers to be canned and November saw us increase our brewery team to 12, just in time for the new canning line modification to be installed and the doubling of canning capacity allowing us to launch 5 new cans into range.
